Social Media and Digital Marketing Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship

This course will give you the fundamental skills required to market effectively for a business using social media. It will introduce you to the vast world of marketing and help you understand the key principles behind it. You will learner all about using social media, why we use social media for a business and how to do so. You will develop an understanding of search engine optimisation and why it is important, how to make sure you are optimising content and how to increase your companies search engine rankings. Alongside all of the you will develop you writing skills as you will be required to create and publish content for the web, this will be in many forms such aas blogs, micro blogs, e-articles, posts and videos. You will learn the basics of HTML and CSS and develop an understanding of how websites works. You will be using various forms of collaborative technology to interact with your colleagues and your customers and you will learn very useful skills which will allow you to use these technologies efficiently.

You will develop page management skills and learn how to utilise a variety of management and monitoring tools such as hootsuite and tweetdeck. You will learn all about the key components of a marketing plan and be able to evaluate plans and improve them. You will then learn the principles of creating campaigns to fall in line with the marketing plan. You will be actively involved in mobile social media marketing and will learn how to use various devices such as phones, and tablets to help reach customers and improve engagement.

You will also develop invaluable skills regarding social media advertising. This includes creating the campaigns and implementing them into your community.

This unit is about the fundamentals of social media marketing for a business

Unit 302: Principles of keywords and optimisation

This unit is about understanding how to implement keywords and/or keyword phrases on a website to achieve maximise optimisation.

Unit 303: Social Networking Management for a business

This unit is about using social networking for business in a cost effective and time efficient way.

Unit 304: Using Collaborative Technology

This unit is about the ability to use IT tools and devices for collaborative working and communications, such as web or video conferencing, instant messaging/chat, online phone and video calls; online forums, social networking sites, wikis and other centralised depositories for documents, blogging, RSS and data feeds, bulk SMS or online work management tools.

Unit 306: Creating and optimising content for the web

This unit is about creating optimised online profiles, blog and micro-blog content and the legal implications surrounding this.

Unit 201: Use Digital and Social media in marketing campaigns

This unit concerns understanding planning requirements for the use of digital and social media and market to target customers using digital and social media.

Unit 307: Principles of mobile social media for a business

This unit is an introduction to mobile social media marketing looking at the solutions for a business.

Unit 308: Principles of social media advertising and promotion

This unit is about understanding advertising and promotion within social media sites and the use of digital vouchers for a business.

Entry requirements: You must be employed in an office and marketing environment carrying out marketing tasks for at least 16 hours per week.
